Sizing Large (ii)

This shoe fits large: consider a smaller size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits large to size; if you sometimes have to go down a size, it is more likely that you may need to go down a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Sizing & Fitting Help

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Outstanding shoe for weights and step classes

I enjoy wearing barefoot shoes to the gym but wanted something with a little more structure for Step and weights classes. I have been delighted with the way Milo gives a slightly more precise movement, for example when treading on and off the step. Similarly, when lifting weights, my feet feel more grounded in my Milos while giving the same barefoot comfort. Highly recommended

Really impressed. A very nice barefoot gym shoe and an even better cycling shoe. Whatever reinforcement is in there makes putting power down on the pedals very comfortable. Still extremely flexible and non supportive feeling when walking around. Will buy again!

Really comfortable straight out of the box. This is my third pair of Freet shoes and they didn’t disappoint. If thd last two pairs are anything to go by they will last .

My new favourite shoes!

I've been a fan of Freet shoes for years now and I think the Milo is the fourth shoe of theirs that I've tried. They're great - they feel really well made with lots of nice details such as the little strip of padding just behind the achilles tendon, which really do make them more comfortable. They're pitched as workout shoes and no doubt they'd be great for that, but I'm just wearing them as everyday footwear at the moment and they're perfect for me - very light, comfortable, durable and very good-looking.
The sole feels a little bit thicker than some other Freet shoes, which is great for cycling - very thin soles can be a bit uncomfortable on the pedals. There's still loads of flexibility though.
They felt slightly on the large side for the stated size, but I think that's because they fit so well - normally I have to buy shoes that are slightly too long to get space for my little toe, because most manufacturers don't make shoes that are the same shape as an actual human foot, whereas with these the shape is so good that you could possibly go a size down if you were trying to decide between two sizes.
I think Freet have made a bit of a classic here and I only hope they keep on making them - I'm still mourning the end of the 4+1 range, although I have a couple of pairs stashed away to keep my big toe happy and independent for a few more summers...
