This shoe fits true to size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

i like how light the shoe is and compared to my other barefoot pair of slip-ons, they are wider and fit my fit perfect so far. very happy with them.

Almost Perfect, but the Big Toe Taper Is a Real Problem

The stack height delivers exactly the ground feel I was looking for. Unfortunately, the shoe’s shape holds it back from being a true barefoot option. The big-toe section of the toe box noticeably tapers inward, which restricts natural toe splay—even though my feet aren’t particularly wide.
When walking, your big toe should be able to spread outward for balance and stability, but this shoe doesn’t allow enough room for that. Going up a size doesn’t solve the issue either. This restriction also affects proper arch activation, which is a key part of barefoot-style movement.
Overall, while the ground feel is excellent, the lack of a truly foot-shaped design defeats much of the purpose of a barefoot shoe.

Perfect house and travel shoe

I bought these shoes over 1 year ago and have been enjoying them during the colder months of the year. They are a perfect house shoe for when it is too cold to go barefoot and they are also perfect for travel because they are easy to pack.

The bad news for Freet, and good news for everybody else is that the shoes are holding up very well and I will not need to buy a replacement for years to come. I am especially happy with the insole; it is a great layer and is holding up.

As a note about sizing, the size is perfect when specified with the EU sizing. I think that the US site mixes up US and UK sizing data, so just go with the EU sizing number.

I love these! Any chance of a winter version?

Flat, roomy, comfortable with or without socks.
We're well into autumn now and I'm still wearing my Talus with insoles and woolly socks.
I'd love a winter version of these for when the weather gets colder.

Great shoes but runs big

the shoes are great quality and are comfortable. But they do run big. I am a size 11 normally and probably could have gotten away with a 10 or 10.5
