The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits true to size; so order your normal size.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

The lengths shown are the Insole lengths (the actual shoe length will be 2 or 3 mm longer).

Measuring Your Foot
  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.
Keep pencil verical
Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Like a slipper

Have you ever ran in your most comfortable slippers? Me neither, but these shoes feel just like that!
Only three remarks:
1) If you run mostly on hard flat surfaces (asphalt, concrete), maybe look for something with a little more cushioning.
2) As others said, they may feel a little uncomfortable in the bending part at first, but it goes away after several kilometers.
3) If you run down from steeper inclines, tie your shoelaces a bit tighter around the insteps (in the lower part of the shoe) so your feet does not slide forward too much.

Almost perfect

For me it's the perfect fit, same as my Lone Peak. The grip in mud and on grass is amazing. But when it comes to hard surfaces it is not so great, especially when it's wet. I feel it slipping on stones, so I won't take it hiking in the mountains, but for running it's tolerable and I mostly run on soft trails rather than stoney ones. I like the stack height and the combination of protection, good ground feel and flexibility. Overall, I'd say it is a good deal, especially because I got it on sale.

Coming from vivos I am pleased to finally find a barefoot shoe thats actually wide. Plenty of room for my high volume bridge as well

Finally, my dream trail shoe!

I have a Roman (square) foot shape, and finding the perfect fit has always been a struggle - until now. The Feldom 2 is an absolute masterpiece. The lockdown is superb, and the grip is outstanding on the trails. It strikes the perfect balance with its cushioning, making it ideal for both trail running and technical hiking. Overall, this is my favorite shoe to date. I have finally found the perfect shoe for my feet. Highly recommended!

Fits well at my normal size

Fits well at my normal size. Midfoot is plenty wide for my feet. Super grippy on pavements, works well in gym for compound movements. Ready to buy again once these wear out.
