Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

Measuring your outline

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Excellent quality. Great ifor wider feet

Absolutely love these sandals, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Freet's width. I spent years and years wasting money on wide fit shoes from every brand you can think of, E to EEE fit, but all I needed was a great pair of barefoot shoes which are considerate of foot width. My feet aren't massively wide either, the issue is that I am very short and my petite frame is supported by wider feet, particularly across the toes. All Freet shoes are great for me - never had a bad fit. Highly recommend.

Very happy with size and style but the dye runs out all over my feet!

Hello Kate, the dye is natural within the premium leather and should disappear after a few wears. You could wash in warm water. Sorry for the inconvenience.

almost perfect sandals!

the leather strap system is amazing as well as extremely comfortable. the sandal is really nicely fitting on top of being able to trim the front if its too long for your feet.
my only problem is that I wish it had a stiffer foam in the midsole. there is a super soft foam, then a soft foam, then the rubber. If it had a soft foam, medium firm foam, then rubber I imagine it would have better longevity and would feel a little better under foot.
