This shoe fits small: consider a larger size

The best guide for sizing your new Freet shoes is to start with your usual shoe size. Think about whether you always take this size or whether you sometimes need to go smaller or larger.

Customer feedback is that this style fits small to size; if you sometimes have to go up a size, it is more likely that you may need to go up a size with this style.

Our shoes are originally produced in EU sizes. All US sizes are the closest conversion so, if you know your EU size, you may want to consider using this.

Measuring Your Foot

Sometimes as a second check it is worth measuring your foot. Feet can be different sizes so its worth measuring both and taking the largest.

Standing next to a wall place a piece of paper against the wall. Place your foot on the paper with your heel just touching the wall.

  • The next stage is easier if you get someone else to help do it.
  • Take a pencil or pen and trace the outline of the foot on the paper.
  • Start at the heel.
  • Keep the pen at 90 degrees to the paper, so vertical, see diagram.
  • Don't draw under the foot.

Taking a ruler measure the length of the outline in millimetres. This will be the exact size of the insole you will need. To ensure the fit is not tight add another 5.0 - 10.0 mm to the length. If you wear thick socks then add that thickness to the length.

If possible, please work from the EU sizes (the US and UK sizes are nearest conversions to these sizes so will not be as accurate). The lengths and widths are the dimensions of the insole in mm measured as per the picture below:

Good quality. Runs large.

Advise listed to order a size up was on point. So far like the quality of the material. Feels very comfortable. If I could change anything it’d just be the length of the laces. Way too large.

Attractive and practical

Wore my new Nimbus a lot on a recent 2 week trip to Tenerife for walks of 3/4 hours on pavements and beaches. I copied another reviewer and changed the laces - mine are shorter and black, much more stylish.
I found the inside of the shoes less smooth than is normal for Freet around the instep and ankle, so mainly wore with socks. Am hoping this will improve with time.
Otherwise very comfortable.
I usually buy 3 sizes up in Freet hiking boots to get the width for bunions, but I only went up 2 sizes with Nimbus and they were fine (thinner socks of course).
Also really like that these trainers can withstand some rain.

Zapatillas cómodas pero no indicadas para llevarlas cuando el suelo está mojado

Son muy cómodas pero las quería para trabajar en una residencia de ancianos y si se moja la suela en las duchas,resbala.No cumple la función.Me pedí un número más de mi talla normal y me vienen bien

Feel nimble and stylish!

These are really great stylish/modern looking street trainers, very shiny white! very comfortable for me, not too small, my normal size was fine. Jane at Freet was very kind to accommodate a special order request for me at short notice with incredible customer service. I wore these to a job interview so they're not out of place for a smart casual setting. It's so hard to find barefoot shoes that fit that box.

Better than I imagined

I waited to write this review until after wearing them most of the day every day on a week's trip to New Orleans. We walked a lot every day in temperatures around 28-30C and the shoes were great! Although not leather, they stayed looking good, and my feet did not overheat under those conditions. They are also very easy to clean and keep looking good, just with a wipe over with a damp cloth, and maybe a bit of dish washing liquid for stubborn marks. Thoroughly recommended!
